RIM has launched their corporate service for the BlackBerry Bold in South Korea on SK Telecom, both companies have said they expect the BlackBerry Bold to be available by the end of December and plan to target both domestic and multinational companies.
The BlackBerry Bold’s arrival was made easier when an exception to South Korea’s rule that requires mobile phones to carry special software which is adapted to South Korea’s wireless internet platform, although corporate customers so far are only allowed to sign up.
This rule is apparently to be abolished after April 1st 09 and should entice smartphone makers to enter South Korea as a potential market.
