Garmin has responded to the net whispers that they are to bring out a Google Android based smartphone by saying that the Digitimes piece contained a number of inaccuracies in the areas of product rollout schedules and sales figures.
Which although doesn’t confirm that a Garmin Android phone is currently in development it does mean that the long drawn out Garmin Nuvifone won’t be android but Linux as originally planned.
So the Garmin Nuvifone isn’t handing round some factory waiting for the Android system, so where is it? Sure has been a long time coming and by the time it gets here it will probably be outdated.
