Once upon a time mobile phones where banned in hospitals, but lately doctor’s and hospital staff have been allowed to use their mobile handsets at work, well now it seems that patients will soon be afforded that same privilege as official policy guidelines are relaxed.
Ben Bradshaw, the health minister is advising hospital trusts to allow patient to use their mobile phones as long as they do not interfere with hospital equipment, become a nuisance or invade privacy.
Apparently this new policy can be implemented immediately however it is up to the individual health trust just how they want to handle it. The government, sort the advice of the Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency before making the change to policy.
