A group of students at the University of Toronto Canada have come up with an invention that could change the face of all home remotes. The invention is called UiRemote, Universal Infrared Remote, and is for the Apple iPhone.
Basically, with the aid of a small accessory, UiRemote turns the Apple iPhone into a universal home remote so the iPhone can remotely control their TV, Cable box, projectors, DVD, digital photo frames, and just about anything else.
The UiRemote is a standalone accessory in its final prototype form and is just the size of a fingertip and needs nothing but an Apple iPhone to control devices and even learn new commands.
