Android T-Mobile G1 gains Skype Lite client app
Own a Google Android T-Mobile G1 and enjoy VoIP chat? Well now the G1er can VoIP chat on their G1 handset with the availability of Skype ‘Lite’ coming to the Android Market.
Skype ‘Lite’ for Android should hit the Android Market over the next few days, unfortunately you’ll still need to pay your standard carrier rates when calling with Skype ‘Lite’ but messaging your contact list is done via your data connection.
Skye isn’t stopping at the T-Mobile G1 though as apparently versions for Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, Nokia, Motorola handsets should also be available, and according to a Skype rep at CES 2009, Skype are working on a version for the Apple iPhone 3G.
Any thoughts G1ers, will you use Skype on your G1?

Hello,
Very nice article on Skype Lite. Even the beta version is nice to used with a very nice user interface and easy navigation. I suggest people to give a try. If you want more information on Skype Lite, check out this post:

Bye
The Skype BETA client fpr the G1 tends to disconnect when you press the home key or back button. I hope Skype updates the app soon to resolve that issue. I’ve missed tons of calls and IMs because of it logging out randomly.
