Will next Apple iPhone incorporate new PowerVR SGX543 graphics chip?
At CES 2009, Imagination Technologies quietly announced the PowerVR SGX543 which is their new PowerVR graphics chip specifically for use in mobile phones.
There hasn’t been any mention of Apple having anything to do with the PowerVR SGX543; however rumour has it that the PowerVR SGX543 graphics chip could be used in future generations of the Apple iPhone.
Apparently, the PowerVR SGX543 chip is “40 percent faster for “shader-heavy” software and can push as many as 50 percent more triangles when handling 3D.” Now the question is, will Apple pick this up and work with it?
