Mobile phone gamers have been waiting for the holy grail of mobile gaming in the hopes of the Sony PlayStation becoming a serious mobile contender with technology from Sony Ericsson to bring the mobile world the Sony Ericsson PSP phone.

But the dream is over, the Sony Ericsson PSP phone will not come to the reality of the mobile arena as Sony has refused to license their PlayStation brand to Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson would not comment on whether Sony had said or not said no. So if this is true then maybe it will fall to the likes of Apple and their iPhone to bring something like the Microsoft Xbox 360 to the mobile world, if so maybe then Sony would perhaps reconsider.
