The state of the economy is hitting everyone, and many are making drastic cutbacks with news of job losses from Motorola, Microsoft and now Sprint joins the job cuts crew by axing 8,000 employees.
The decision to dump 8,000 people is expected to save Sprint roughly $1.2 billion; the unfortunate thing is the 8,000 will now be unemployed and have to seek new employment which as everyone and their uncle seems to be dropping staff is going to be hard going.
Details of Sprint’s layoff haven’t been made public as yet but apparently the staff dump will affect all levels within the company and across various locations. Furthermore, Sprint intends to freeze any pay increases to affect more savings.
