A couple of weeks ago a man in a Lenovo store in China was killed by an exploding mobile phone, but there are details seeping out that the actual device now that exploded wasn’t a mobile phone battery explosion at all.
The word hitting the net waves is that it was actually some type of firearm. According to a translation of an article on Sohu.com the “imitation firearm with bullets” fell to the floor and let of several rounds into the man’s chest.
Newspaper The Telegraph goes a bit further and reports that the man’s mobile phone was also damaged when the homemade gun fired off which led to the suspicion that the mobile phone had exploded.
