Looks like Verizon isn’t immune to the job lay-off syndrome during this economic downturn, and it appears Verizon has laid off virtually all, 90% of reps of Circuit City, having said that it’s probable the right move taking into consideration Circuit City’s failure.

The reps that lost their jobs were not however Circuit City employees rather they were employed by Verizon Wireless and only a small amount of those have been found positions elsewhere.

Also there is word going round that Verizon Wireless has begun major lay offs in the Gulf Coast region. This time Verizon is apparently targeting the higher paid representatives for the big chop.
