Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Blue Earth mobile phone which is a mobile handset made from PCM, a recycled plastic formed from water bottles, and sports a huge solar panel on its rear.
The Samsung Blue Earth features an “eco” mode which adjusts screen brightness, an “eco walk” application with built in pedometer so you know how much CO2 you’ve managed to save by opting to walk, Bluetooth can be adjusted via the “eco” mode as well.
The Solar panel apparently can charge the Samsung Blue Earth enough to make a call whenever the sun shows, while Samsung reckon the Blue Earth’s form factor “symbolizes a flat and well rounded shiny pebble”. Apparently the Blue Earth will be in the UK in the 2nd half of 09 but no word on price yet.
