Apple iPhone and AT&T exclusivity partnership under challenge
Apple and AT&T have had a long standing alliance with the Apple iPhone, an alliance that many wish to see ended. A growing number of public interest groups would like to see the Apple AT&T partnership dissolved and are taking their case to the top government levels.
The reason of course is because Apple is forcing those who want to purchase the Apple iPhone to bye it from AT&T only and some want that to change.
So the New America Foundation, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Consumers Union, and even Mozilla along with MetroPCS and Leap Wireless International are all lining up to change things not only in the exclusivity deal between Apple and AT&T but to change how mobile phones are tethered exclusively to one wireless service provider.
