The Research In Motion BlackBerry 9630 Niagara smartphone reportedly a RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 and Blackberry Curve 8900 combination handset is expected to be on Verizon Wireless as a “World Phone” which means it will work of both GSM and CDMA for US and abroad.
Spec wise, the BlackBerry 9630 Niagara is CDMA-1X/EV-DO/Rev.A, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS, and features a 3.2 megapixel camera, BlackBerry handheld OS version 4.7.1, and enhanced BlackBerry Browser with support for JavaScript v1.6.
The one big problem with the BlackBerry 9630 Niagara is that those specifications don’t include WiFi, which seems to be the norm with Verizon as todate Verizon hasn’t offered a single BlackBerry smartphone that has WiFi aboard.
