Text messaging is a big thing in the mobile arena and messaging mobile phones are becoming more popular over the world because of their QWERTY keyboards making texting that much easier, especially in Canada and the United States.

Now, this being the case one would think that the RIM BlackBerry smartphone with its QWERTY keyboard would be the number one messaging handset in North American, right?

Well you’d be wrong in assuming so because LG actually hold the number one slot for messaging phones as they have shifted roughly 11.8 million messaging phones in North American in 08. In total 33.7 million messaging handsets were shipped in North America which puts LG in control of a 3rd of the market.
