There has been two cases reported of a mobile phone spontaneously catching fire, now that in itself doesn’t equate to a tread or too much of a worry, but when it happens to be the Apple iPhone then it’s of some notice.
Apparently, Tim Colbourne, an Italian blogger was charging his Apple iPhone, when after three hours it just burst into flames at its base. Colbourne then did some internet investigative work and discovered one more occurrence of the same thing in Sweden back in 08.
The Swedish Apple iPhone was replaced after some argument with Apple so maybe Colbourne will get a replacement without too much trouble. But the ting is if there are now two occurrences could there be more that haven’t come to light, and what is Apple going to do about it if there is, switch to micro USB maybe.
