Apple iTunes App Store grey market rival, Cydia, the site that supplies unofficial apps for jailbroken Apple iPhones may be turning into a proper legit apps store called Cydia Store if everything goes according to developer Jay Freeman.
Freeman says “the overworking goal is to provide choice” and that he plans on matching or even beating Apple’s commission on downloaded applications.
You can get paid apps from Cydia on an app by app basis with payment via PayPal or product key schemes, so a simpler way of Cydia payment for the purchase of apps would make things easier. As yet, Apple has made no response to the announcement that Cydia may go legit, but no doubt they eventually will.
