It’s marvellous what finds its way to the land of all things for sale, that place where virtually anything can be bought eventually. Of course I’m talking about eBay, and now eBay has what appears to be an early Apple iPhone prototype up for sale.

The seller says this early Apple iPhone prototype is in “good cosmetic condition” and has a matte plastic display rather than the glass display found in today’s Apple iPhones.

The Apple iPhone prototype serial number is YM649xxxxxx which according to the seller corresponds with a factory in China with a manufacture week of 49 in 2006 and runs on iPhone OS 03.03.03_G. Apparently there is also a second non-functioning unit as well with a glass display and higher serial number.
