Toshiba is to delay selling their first DMFC, direct methanol fuel cell battery charger after running into issues with securing particular components.
So what is a DMFC? Well its actually a portable charger for mobile phones and the like whereby you don’t need to plug the device into the wall.
DMFC’s deliver electricity via a reaction between air, water and methanol and Toshiba’s next fuel cell products will be embedded DMFC’s in laptops and phones, with the only by-product being a small amount of carbon dioxide and water vapour the DFMC is seen as a much greener source of energy.
