While at CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas, Opera told cnet that a version of their Opera Mobile 9.7 for consumers will be coming as soon as May.
Apparently everything with Opera Mobile 9.7 is the same except for the rendering and what sets it apart from the Opera Mobile 9.5 version for Symbian and Windows Mobile is that Opera Mobile 9.7 includes Opera Turbo which is a rendering compression engine that reduces data down to 80%.
Furthermore, the Opera Turbo engine utilises the exact same server engine as Opera Mini’s Opera proxy browser for Java handsets. This interestingly means that Opera thinks Opera Mobile simply isn’t fast enough in its present form.
