It would appear that AT&T is somewhat worried over the new Skype for iPhone application, as AT&T is to restrict the use of the Skype iPhone app on their 3G network according to a report by Intomobile.
As we all know, Skype is VoIP and offer free calls, something obviously mobile carriers don’t particularly like, and thus Skype for the Apple iPhone has been relegated to WiFi hotspots.
AT&T isn’t the only carrier to do this with Skype, as in the UK; O2 has also restricted Skype to WiFi, while T-Mobile Germany has gone as far as to completely ban Skype from their network.
What’s your take on this readers, should Skype be relegated or banned or should it be allowed to do what it’s meant to do?
