The word is Bluetooth SIG will be announcing the next generation Bluetooth protocol, Bluetooth 3.0 on the 21st of April according to a report on phonescoop.
Apparently Bluetooth 3.0 will rely on Generic Alernate MAC/PHY (AMP) and thus will be capable of operation at WiFi speed. This should enable Bluetooth 3.0 users to transfer music, photos and video files in seconds.
Bluetooth 3.0 will feature a new tech called Enhanced Power Control, which is supposed to reduce the “occurrence of disconnects” when placing in your pocket and the like.
