Obviously Apple is continually looking for ways to keep the Apple iPhone on top of all the other smartphones out there, researching into how they can improve their mobile interfaces.
According to a report by macrumors, Apple has published a couple of patent applications, one was a few weeks ago for exploring the possibility of motion as an interface method whereby motion based gestures invoke specific commands rather than screen icons.
The second patent is a more practical take on the problem and Apple does concede that iPhoners could experience difficulty using the iPhone’s touch interface while performing tasks in motion. But the other thing that some reader points out is that the patent diagram actually shows a front facing video camera which would allow video chat capability on further iPhones.
