Palm Pre Vs. iPhone 3.0 Vs Sidekick LX 2009
You may know we are about to see a couple of hot phones hit the market, the iPhone 3.0 and the Palm Pre, but there is also a hot handset already released, the T-Mobile Sidekick LX of course.
This shows us 2009 is going to be a good year for the smartphone.
The Palm Pre is hoped to be the smartphone that saves Palm, and it does have a chance of competing with its less box style design and smaller than both rivals the Apple iPhone and the T-Mobile Sidekick LX.
Then there is of course the Pre webOS to consider which is claimed to work faster than the Apple iPhone’s UI. Furthermore incorporating a physical keyboard is always a good move for the text fans. Not having had my hands on the Palm Pre I can’t say it is better than the iPhone, but is probably on par when it comes to web browsing speed.
Then we have the T-Mobile Sidekick LX with its 3G speed, and plays nice on Twitter and Facebook, but will the T-Mobile Sidekick LX be able to hold its own against the iPhone and Pre?
Of course the other handset which we haven’t yet discussed is the Apple iPhone 3.0, but no doubt when that particular smartphone drops it will surely grab all the limelight. The Palm Pre and T-Mobile Sidekick LX may be good smartphones but as no one really knows what to expect with iPhone 3.0 anything can happen.
What do you think?
James.

The Palm Pre is looking to be a very exciting device. While the first release of any platform is likely to have its problems, it appears as though Palm developers have pulled out all the stops on this one by developing an intuitive, fast and developer-friendly OS that is sure to be a hit with smartphone fans. While it won’t be an “iPhone killer” it will give all devices of this type a run for its money, in particular those that come out in parallel. The cyber buzz, if possible, is even geater than that of the iPhone at first launch, and mainstream America has yet to be fully emeshed in Palm/Sprint marketing.
Palm will need only to price the phone at a competitive point and launch their WebOS app store soon to have a huge hit on their hands.
It will be the next gadget in my pocket, most definitely.
count me in for a Palm Pre i my pocket.

Exactly the point……and I thought I was the only one. I think the Palm Pre’s coded ability to synergize all the apps is the winning point for me. With IPhone, it’s all beauty + cost, but actual integrated functionality loses out when I looked at the Palm Pre demo. And that’s what I need in my life…….to get properly organized. To revolve and organize everything in a single device. For me, it’s either the Palm Pre or a hot functional secretary.
The Iphone 3gs is lightning fast, bigger screen, fingerprint proof and webpages look like a computers. If you worried bout mutitasking you can jailbreak it is unbeatable :)Palm Pre is the best sprint phone out but an Iphone it will never be
Getting the sk09 next week. Screw Apple! Boycott the pod!
Well, I myself own the Sidekick LX 2009, and I have friends that own the iPhone 3G and the Palm Pre, so I have had experience with all three of the phones. I still think the Sidekick LX 2009 is the best of them all. Also, Sprint has terrible reception(I have gone through sprint in the past). I’m not sure about AT&T. I say the Sidekick LX 2009 is the best.
The Sidekick is just a over-all better buy also the MyTouch. Sidekick pretty much does everything, higher resolution, faster speed, user friendly and the phone is a beast to break. the iphone to me.. is a hassle to text. Apple has a way of doing good Marketing and Advertising…thats all
