That’s what the latest rumour is according to an article posted by DigiTimes. Sony Ericsson are working on an Android based smartphone which will go on sale by the end of this year.

This of course flies totally in the face of a statement claimed to have been made by Sony Ericsson’s chief officer, Hideki Komiyama who has stated that Sony Ericsson will take their time on Android and not be releasing any time soon.

Other rumours have it that Sony Ericsson is looking to the Android platform as a means of boosting their flagging sales.
