It appears that Canadian carrier Rodgers Wireless is to gain the LG GT500 Puccini handset, which hasn’t yet been officially announced for any mobile market as yet.

The news comes via mobilesyrup and heralds good news for our Canadian buddies as the spec sheet for the LG GT500 packs 3G, a WQVGA touch screen, and a 5 megapixel camera.

Apparently though the only LG GT500 smartphone to pass the FCC has only received approval for EDGE bands, so either Rodgers are going ahead with EDGE on its own or they’ll have to wait for a North American 3G version.
