It appears that an open-Internet advocacy group is complaining about AT&T and Apple Inc placing a halt on VoIP, and wants regulators to look at if Apple and AT&T are breaking federal rules by not allowing the widespread use of low cost calling services on the Apple iPhone states an article on bizjournals.
This is obviously about Skype and that its service on the Apple iPhone has been restricted to WiFi rather than using AT&T high speed network.
Over here in the UK 3UK is fully allowing Skype on their network as they see no problem with it, so what is the problem with Apple and AT&T?
What do you think readers; is it simply a matter of greed and that customers will gain cheaper calls via Skype? Does AT&T see Skype as a threat? Should the government step in and look closely at AT&T’s motives for the restrictions? Or should Skype be allowed unhindered on mobile networks?
