New Apple 4G iPhone 2009: Verizon or AT&T

Verizon Ivan Seidenberg believes technology will let Verizon have a shot at the new Apple iPhone; the technology he is on about is 4G of course, and he really thinks Verizon has a good shot at it according to a report by theiphoneblog.

Verizon made a mistake in the past by turning down the Apple iPhone, and then offering their customers the BlackBerry Storm, and now they want to sort of back track and have a piece of the iPhone action.

Verizon thinks that 4G LTE network tech which GSM carriers such as AT&T and CDMA carrier Verizon are running after will bring Verizon their second change at the iPhone, and maybe it will, after all Apple can no doubt see the potential new customers all waiting for a slice of the iPhone.

But which will get the new iPhone, Verizon or AT&T?

Ihave used both networks (Verizon and AT&T,) after switching to AT&T I have no regrets.

Verizon had diminishing service and coverage in my area. Customer support was useless to non-existant. I moved on.

Service and coverage from AT&T is superior. I never drop calls (unless the other party is Verizon!)

well of course idiot its obvious you dont have a verizon tower in your area because its like that where im at except vice versa with the companies

    2. Da'veon says:

Think Verizon has grown so much in the past’s years and even you can tell. Verizon is the biggest for a reason their service is unmatched Verizon truly is work hard for me and the 91.1 million other Verizon subscribers

  2. Greg says:

Forgot to mention, the iPhone is the best phone I have had, ever.

Compared with the Storm… Oh wait, there is no comparison.

I have tried other vendors ‘touch screen,’ phones and none compare with iPhone.

Sure, there are some features that Apple should have included or that others do better but overall, there is still no real contest in the handset market. Apple is superior.

Don’t believe me? Go to any Apple or AT&T store and try the iPhone for five minutes.

Nobody I have met that dumped Blackberry has any regrets.

  3. I love Verizon and that is all you get in my town. The next closes thing here in U.S Cellular…YES FOR IPHONE ON VERIZON.. I would PAY ALOT:) to be able to use the services and what it comes wtih

  4. Angry AT&T customer says:

AT&T is hands down the WORST service provider I have ever had. I would avoid it at all costs. I experience daily dropped calls and TERRIBLE customer service. Verizon is extraordinary compared to AT&T.

  5. EX AT$T says:

I was at the end of my Alltel contract and knew that Verison was taking over. I always wanted an iPhone, so I went to Best Buy and purchased one and was told I had a 30 day trial. I live in the country and AT&T did not come in at all. It wouldn’t even have a bar on it. So I took it back to Best Buy, no problems there. They called AT&T right in front of me and they spoke with me to verify and even asked for my last four of my SSN. Well, two months later I got a bill. I figured it was for the time I had it so I paid it. The next two months I was getting bills and AT&T couldn’t straighten it out. Over all, they were trying to charge me over $400 for a total of 6 minutes I used. They claimed Best Buy didn’t call and cancel and since it wasn’t called in within 30 days, so AT&T said, they were then trying to get me to pay a cancelation fee. AT%T SUCK!

If the new iPhone goes to Verison, I will get one in a heart beat, if not, one less sale.

I personally have never experienced AT&T but I have T-Mobile which, as everyone knows can service the iPhone. T-Mobile was definitely a horrible choice. The Customer Service was absolutely terrible. I honestly had OK service, and I live in the middle of no where. But the SideKick was a piece, let me tell you. I now have had Verizon for 5 months and I absolutely love it. There really was no change in difference between signal reception but the Customer Service is beyond the best I’ve experienced from past providers. Now, when I heard rumors of the iPhone 4G coming to AT&T I think I peed a little. I’ve always envied the iPhone and to know that it may be coming to my premium choice in service providers, I am very much looking forward to it. In m opinion I think it’s only fair, AT&T got the STORM which was implied to be a VZW ONLY phone. So I do think that Verizon deserves a share in the amazing Apple production sensation. One thing that I have heard that doesn’t seem right is that after the 4G drops later this year that AT&T will no long carry Apple iPhones. I think that would be too drastic. I’m still very much excited.

  7. Luis says:

I had every carrier and Verizon is the best and a phone is only as good ast its network. So yes Verizon should get the Iphone 4g. The best phone deserves the best Network.

  8. Verizon says:

I love the iphone, yes it can freez here and there but its cool love it. But since its AT&T I hate it.

    AT&T SUCKS big time.

IF they bring Iphone to Verizon WOW i will literlly pay like 400 for it…

it would rock to have the best phone n best service

  9. Amy has Verizon! says:

I have had 2 different Verizon phones for the last 3 years. I have no regrets. Verizon is amazing. I’ve always got service, I’ve never had a problem there. I love the phone I have now. I even just downloaded a Twitter client for my phone just today. I have never needed to contact customer service. My phones have never had a significant problem. I love my phone. I have the LG Versa from Verizon. If I go to the basement level of a mall (for instance) with a friend who has AT&T or even something like Sprint, im the only one who gets service. BUT if you hold an iPhone up to someones head, you can get like one bar of service, enough to send a text. Have fun with the cancer, though. I would love to have an iPhone, and if it doesn’t come to Verizon with this new 4g thing everyone is raving about, I will probably switch and get one. But thats a good year and a half away. So hopefully, Verizon will make the right choice this time around. Here’s hoping.

  10. Heidi says:

I currently have both Verizon and At&T. I have been with Verizon for years. I love it. Their phone service is impeccable. My husband and sons still have Verizon. I have two phones with AT&T..of course, iPhones. That is the only reason I have AT&T; had to have that iPhone. If Verizon gets the iPhone, bye bye AT&T. I will happily pay the cancellation fees!

  11. From my personal experience in the past 7 years with my own phones and experiences of friends I have observed that on service, Verizon is King! and AT&T is Second best, although it is better than Sprint. The iPhone is probably the best equipment, what a shame to waste it on second best phone service.

  12. Ismael says:

I have to say that I LOVE my IPhone and I LOVE AT&T. I do not have droped calls, I have 3G almost everywhere and the customer service is always on point. The guys at the AT&T store try to save me money. I’ve had AT&T for over 10 years with same cell number. Verizon sucks at paying their bills (I work for one of their suppliers), they suck in customer service, theyr billing is always off. I wish that they weren’t such a horrible company, because I really would love to have FIOS, but I won’t get it because of Verizon sucking at everything else.

  13. Kassandra says:

Wow we’ve got some Verizon haters on here haha
3 words….get over yourselves! I know the iphone is a great phone I’m not dumb, Apple is a great company with far advanced technology so of course they’re going to come out with a superb smartphone duh. Unfortunately only AT&T carries it……..for now. I have a handfull of friends with the iphone on AT&T service and although they love the iphone, obviously, they hate hate the service AT&T provides. Even a guy I work with has to go outside when he’s on his phone just so he can get a clear signal, I’ve known their service was bad but after knowing people with it now I know. I have been with Verizon for about five years now and love the service, no complaints whatsoever since I switched. I also just found out that Apple offered the iphone to Verizon first haha so dont feel special AT&T customers. I have a feeling that once Verizon gets the iphone, AT&T will be crying over it…because that is probably one of the only things keeping their customers.

  14. Rosie says:

I currently switched over from Verizon to A T&T specifically for the iPhone. Though I love the iPhone, I have to admit Verizon had more superior service all around. From day one A T&T’s coverage sucks. I really hope they switch over to Verizon when the 4g comes out.

  15. Wendy says:

I have an ipod touch and I love it! I was just telling my husband that I wish verizon would come out with an iphone. So this morning I saw where they might be in the works of getting one made for Verizon Wireless. I am so excited and I hope they do because I will pay whatever the price is to have one! I’ve not had any problems with Verizon so I think they should get the iphone not AT&T! Besides Verizon has more customers

  16. I would difinately switch over to verizon if they pick up the iPhone. Whether 3 or 4G. I love my iPhone but hate that where I moved to has really crappy AT&T coverage. Can't keep a phone call walking through my house. Verizon is their main cell coverage here. Also hate AT&T phone plans. $30,00 a month for unlimited texting for 1 iPhone is just crazy. For a family plan I could understand but 1 phone is just robbery.

  17. TRUTH says:

LOL, you all are funny… First, Whoever talks about how poor AT&T is never used the company with the Iphone.. Yes phone does make a difference in voice quality and reception. Second I have a friends who is ready to throw his phone in the trash literally because of how slow the phone is online and in the app store. He envies my Iphone all the time and wishes he could switch to AT&T. He has experienced dropped calls himself. So in conclusion, no cell network is perfect and right now hands down Apple with AT&T is the best ask any Iphone owner they never regret it…. PEREIOD

  18. Dee says:

I have been with AT&T for almost 10 years. Never got a drop call, in fact during the WTC attacks, I was able to use my phone that day. Apparently, the people on my job (except those with AT&T) could not get through to love ones. The customer service at AT&T is awesome. I will say one thing, maybe 2 about Verizon, first they have the nerve to cut you service once you don't pay, second, their service sucks. I needed extra time to pay a bill with AT&T due to sickness (was hospitalized for a month) they extended my service at no extra charge. As for Verizon, had the nerve to cut my service, (home service) oh and bill was not due til the next week. Verizon does have the one year contract, but you have to pay an outrageous amount for their cell phones. Sorry, for my money the best is AT&T. By the way, Verizon's billing is higher also. My sister pays $30.00 more for her service than I. She has the Blackberry with Verizon. I have the iPhone with AT&T, and yes I have everything on my phone. Love the roll over minutes.
