SlingPlayer for iPhone officially banned from 3G by AT&T
According to a report on engadget, AT&T has now halted the use of SlingPlayer on the Apple iPhone on their 3G network.
Apparently Singbox uses large amounts of wireless network capacity and could create a congestion thus preventing other customer from using the 3G network says AT&T.
However, apparently the ban on SlingPlayer is only on the Apple iPhone and now on Windows Mobile handsets. The reason for this AT&T says is it is too difficult to police hundreds of individuals using the application whereas with the iPhone it is just a matter of contacting the iTunes App Store to initiate the ban.
So it looks like iPhones lose out this time. What are your views?
