Analyst says No new iPhone at WWDC 2009

Piper Jaffray analyst, Gene Munster has predicted that Apple will not make any announcement of new iPhone hardware during the World Wide Developers Conference 2009 says a report on appleinsider.

Rather than make an announcement at WWDC 2009, Munster believes Apple will host a special event near the end of June or early July to launch a “family of iPhones.”

Well, as WWDC 2009 is a developer’s conference it is likely to centre on iPhone OS 3.0 rather than any new iPhone hardware, as it is unlikely that Apple would be able to get said developers to keep any new hardware under their hat. So if there is going to be new hardware, either Apple is in a position to reveal it at WWDC 2009, or if not then maybe there will be a special even later on. Guess we will have to wait and see.
