The word from appleinsider is that Apple iPhone 3G carrier AT&T is running out of the popular smartphone. New reports show that AT&T iPhone 3G stock is dwindling, and if fact low enough so they need to resort to offering refurbished iPhone 3G units.
One could presume that strategically AT&T could well be clearing out stock of the iPhone 3G in preparation for the new iPhone as we approach WWDC on June the 8th.
It has also been reported that iPhone distributor for Australia, Brightpoint has only a few weeks inventory left, while the 16GB iPhone has already been discontinued. However, AT&T denies any shortage of iPhone 3G handsets.
