The senior director for Mobile Platforms for Google, Andy Rudin has confirmed that there will be at least 18 or possibly 20 Android based phones released this year claims an article over on engadget mobile.
Rubin also states that these Android handset will come from eight or nine manufacturers with faster adoption seen in Europe and will be three flavours of Android.
Said Android flavours are… a free to download version of Android without Google applications such as Goggle Calendar and Gmail…next is the same as previous but where manufacturers sign a distribution contract with Google and pre-install Google apps…and finally the full fledged Google logo and Google apps installed and unrestricted access.
