The Palm is expected to shift somewhere round about 623,000 Palm Pre handsets in its fiscal first quarter ending in August states a report by Reuters, and analysts which have been polled by Reuters expect Palm to shift as many as 865,000 over the quarter.
According to the article the Palm Pre is no iPhone killer but its launch could well be the biggest event in the mobile industry this year.
However, the Achilles heel will undoubtedly be the launch day low availability of the Palm Pre which has some analysts worried that this limited rollout signals manufacturing problems or difficulties acquiring phone parts.
