Developers got a rare treat at WWDC 2009 as Apple showcased 20,000 popular iPhone applications on a huge hyperwall which was constructed from Cinema Displays and even one which pulsed in synchronisation with every iTunes App Store download reports appleinsider.
The hyperwall was mounted on a wall inside the Moscone Centre West in San Francisco and was made up of 20 edge-to-edge 30 inch Apple Cinema Displays and each one powered by a Mac Pro running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Apple’s intension with the hyperwall wasn’t only to show the App Store’s popularity with developers but also to illustrate that many of the applications they publish are downloaded frequently, and reminded that 3000 applications are downloaded every minute.
