Blyk Ltd, based in the UK is a company positioned as a free mobile service network for 16-24-year-olds, and is gearing up to enter the Indian market reports livemint.
A spokesperson for Blyk has said they “do intend to enter India but cannot comment yet on timing.” A discussion with potential launch partners is apparently ongoing.
Furthermore there is a rumour that the local division is stocking up on senior executives to lead the business. Where launched so far, Blyk’s ads-for-minutes model seems to be having some success, and with the addition of India’s hundreds of millions of mobile phone users waiting to be tapped it could well turn into a gold mine.
