A thief who broke into a taxi driver’s house made a stupid mistake which led to his arrest. The thief actually used the taxi driver’s mobile phone to order a taxi from the same company the victim worked for according to a report by the BBC.

Apparently the call operator recognised the phone number and quickly contacted the police, who then arrested 18 year old Jake Ormerod from Torquay in Devon.

Ormerod is to be sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on the 20th of July; Ormerod pleaded guilty to 2 charges of theft.
