Apparently, Apple and Intel are investing a large sum of cash into a company in the United Kingdom that designs chips which are becoming attractive to mobile phone makers within the mobile arena, reports theregister.
The company, Imagination Technologies has announced that Apple has now purchased 2.2 million of the company’s shares in addition to the 8.2 million they had previously acquired back in December of 08.
The purchase of those shares now means Apple owns a 9.5 percent stake in Imagination Technologies who are based in Hertfordshire England, although Apple is still somewhat behind Intel’s stake in the company.
