India is said to be blocking the sales of cheap copy Chinese mobile phones and accessories, in an effort to fight terrorism. Nokia and other handset makers have also been lobbying.

Indian Cellular Association, which is the lobbying group speaking for many major handset manufacturers in the country. The phones which apparently are coming from China even have fake batteries that can dangerously explode. Some have been shipped without the ’international mobile equipment identity’ number, which allows handsets to be traced and tracked in an aid to prevent terrorism.

  1. the question is not india, it should be worldwide. since the IMEI is even same at all which harm to the national security, quality unabble, not after sales service, people buy it for using less than 6 months, which is even more expensive as counted from the using of the time, product life span. the china mobile phone mainly are for serving the china local village user, they are still lacking the product quality sense and most of the international brand do not know how to enter such market yet.
