I ordered one of these phones from Sprint yesterday to replace the Curve 8900 which underperforms where I live due to recent drops in T-Mo’s service. Ordering was fairly straightforward and I had to call web-sales to validate the order before it would process, though I received no notification of this step and wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t checked the order status. Sprint claims it sends updates on the order process, but I have yet to receive a single one. Store employees had no solid information about the Tour’s availability stating in store stock wouldn’t be available before Aug 2nd, but some online reviews state that stores around the U.S. did indeed have limited stock for onsite purchasing. Whether this is a marketing snafu on the part of Sprint or if it was an intentional move to prevent stores from being inundated on a Sunday I cannot tell. Either way, I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of my BlackBerry Tour 9630.
