The states largest wireless carrier, Verizon Wireless has become even larger in the second quarter of 09, as Verizon announce an additional 1.1 million subscribers to their network according to an article on Forbes.

Although Verizon’s additional 1.1 million subscribers is a tad short of AT&T’s 1.4 million new subscribers, Verizon continues its lead over AT&T with a total of 87.7 million customers.

AT&T continues to reap the rewards of the success of the iPhone 3GS but Verizon has still managed to keep pace, and if or rather when Verizon manage to get hold of the iPhone no doubt they will leave AT&T standing.
