Yesterday Verizon Wireless revealed several details on their upcoming app store which is positioned to rival to Apple’s iTunes App Store for the iPhone reports informationweek.
The Big Red has stated they want developers to create native programs and web applications for their virtual store which will be known as V Cast Apps.
V Cast Apps will potentially have an advantage over the Apple App Store as it has the potential to reach a wider audience of mobile phone users, and Verizon has said they will provide developers access to programming interfaces in order to create compelling apps.
Verizon has also said they are committed to using the Qualcomm Brew platform for applications on their feature phones and will offer precession assistance and certification while purchasing apps will be made simple.
