HTC is expecting revenue to fall this year due to delayed product launches, lower than expected sales in the China market and a larger than expected drop in contract orders reports the WSJ.
On Friday HTC said it expects revenue for 2009 to fall by a low to mid-single digit percentage; they had expected a 10 percent increase. Last year HTC revenue rose some 29 percent to $152.56 billion Taiwanese dollars, roughly $4.65 billion US.
Yuanta Securities analyst Vincent Chen has said that the outlook has softened for the 2ng half of 09, and June was the turning point for HTC while facing a great deal of competition from Apple.
