The FCC has directed Apple to explain their reasons for rejecting the Google Voice application and clarify exactly which applications have been removed. Furthermore the FCC letter asks whether there is any difference between the Google Voice app and other VoIP apps which Apple has approved reports v3.co.uk.
Apple also has to explain their standards for approving applications for the iPhone. The Federal Communications Commission is interested in a more complete understanding of the situation that has rose due to the rejection of the Google Voice application.
The FCC has also sent letters to iPhone carrier AT&T and Google and has requested further information from both parties.
