The world’s second-largest manufacturer of liquid crystal displays, LG Display is apparently planning a series of displays to renew their focus on mobile phones says an article on the Korea Times.
LG Dispay has invested in excess of some 577.1 billion won, which is roughly $463 billion for manufacturing facilities for low temp poly silicon LCDs and is to also add OLED’s to exploit mobile phones.
LG Display opened their LTPS plant in Paju LCD cluster in Gyenggi Province on Wednesday and the line is expected to start producing in tQ1 of 2010 with a monthly capacity of an estimated 20,000 panels every month.
