Apple iPhone 3GS release sees Palm Pre sales slump
The future of the Palm seems bleaker than ever following the forecast by an analyst, that the number of Pre’s sold in July would only be around 100,000.
Okay, so analysts are not also accurate but Ilya Grozovsky’s note to Morgan Joseph could seriously cause the company’s shares to drop dramatically. The number of Pre’s sold in June is said to have dropped to 200,000 and it’s expected that August figures could be even worse.
It was estimated that Palm would sell in the region of 400,000 Pre’s in the three month period ending in August, which is now highly unlikely. It’s been suggested that Palm and it’s partners need to seriously consider slashing the price of the smartphone to boost sales during the holiday season. Go to iproportal.com for more information.
