Gmail up by 25 per cent and chasing Hotmail
Apparently the use of Gmail is on the rise as its user base has grown some 25% this year seeing a unique jump in Google mail service users to 37 million in July according to an article on techcrunch.
The 37 million figure puts Gmail ahead of AOL Email with their 36.4 million users and places Gmail in the number 3 position on the wbemail chart.
AOL dropped some 22% so far this year which allowed Gmail to go ahead the heavily trafficked webmail stakes, although Hotmail is just ahead of Gmail with 47 million users and of course the number one slot goes to Yahoo Mail which has a user figure of 106 million.
