It appears that some Nokia employees are not too happy with their pay, as the Nokia factory in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, India when on strike seeing staff walk out over wage demands reports business-standard.
The strike was originally called off after ten hours when the labour dept gave management and staff of the Nokia plant until next week to sort things out. However the strike was called Friday morning as management pay proposals were unacceptable to staff.
Local media states that workers are saying 8,000 staff walked out during the strike; however, management disputed that figure and states the strike turn out was much lower, and it is estimated production of some 300,000 mobile phones where disrupted.
