Some time ago we reported that the Spotify application for iPhone was coming soon, see (here) and even now Spotify still waits for Apple’s approval, and so the Google Android platform snaps up an unofficial Spotify app for the Android Market.
According to macworld, a 3rd party developer has created Droidify, using the Spotify open API, and thus enables user to listen to music and manage playlists from the music streaming service over WiFi and 3G.
Droidify can be used by Spotify premium account holders, but Droidify doesn’t allow offline playback. So it looks like although it’s an unofficial app, Android has beaten the iPhone to the Spotify service.
