So China Unicom has finally agreed to bring the iPhone 3GS to China, and now it looks like another high profile smartphone may also be on its way to the Chinese populace as engadget mobile reports that China Telecom is in talks with Palm for the Palm Pre smartphone.

There is also word that China Telecom is also still talking to Canada based Research In Motion over plans to bring a Chinese version of the BlackBerry to China’s millions of phone subscribers.

As for the talks over the Palm Pre, well as expected neither Palm nor China Telecom are offering any concrete word as to whether this is true or not at the moment.
