Samsung has proudly posted the web page heralding the arrival of their Samsung Omnia 2 GT-I8000 smartphone which is “coming soon” to Verizon Wireless and Samsung say the Omnia 2 will revolutionise the way you text and email, although they could have posted a picture of the handset rather than a blanked out image.
But will it match up to what is expected and will the handset be good enough? The original Samsung Omnia was regarded as too slow in operation; is the Omnia 2 faster in that respect? They say it handles email and texting faster and more accurately, but faster as opposed to what; the iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry, or just the Omnia?
The Samsung Omnia 2 does incorporate the faster 800 MHz processor, along with Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, and sports a 3.7 inch WCGA AMOLED display, but will this baby actually cut the mustard up against the likes of the iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97 and BlackBerry Tour?
