The 3G market in Australia is said to be becoming a little more aggressive after Vodafone announced that they have increased their coverage of the Australian Market.

Also announced was they will be allowing new free access to Facebook. Operational in hundreds of regional areas Vodafone have said that customer in those upgraded areas are now able to access 3G services on the move including internet and email.

In order to celebrate the 3G upgrade, Vodafone are offering all new and existing customers both on prepay and contract free unlimited access to Facebook on their mobile phones until 31 October 2009. The 2G network, will now be supporting EDGE technology, and customers with a 2G mobile will continue to be able to access voice and text services with an increase in data speeds.
